Scarlett Van tassel is a vintage vixen who embodies the Golden Age of Burlesque in her performances. Performing since 2011, Scarlett has shimmied her way across Ireland taking to the stages of such prestigious shows as the Dublin, Galway and Belfast Burlesque Festivals; Bella A GoGo’s ‚”Steampunk” and “Mexican Day of the Dead Tribute” shows; Film Fatale’s “Ich Liebe Dich Cabaret” in the infamous Spiegeltent during the 2016 Dublin Fringe Festival; Foxy P Cox’s “Peacock Parlour”; Miss Memphis Shell’s “Only After Dark” and Fifi La Roux’s Springtime and Autumn Emporia. In 2016, Scarlett was a finalist in Miss Burlesque Ireland and made her international debut at Chaz Royal’s “Best of Burlesque’ at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. Last year Scarlett was overjoyed to snatch 2nd place at the Galway Burlesque Festival (she definitely doesn’t do the dishes wearing her sash or anything!)
Ever the student Scarlett has trained with the Irish Burlesque School since 2009 and has taken workshops with the Legend of Burlesque Miss Satan’s Angel, Neo-burlesque superstar Dirty Martini, Cabaret and Vaudeville master Armitage Shanks and international showgirls extraordinaire Havana Hurricane, Miss Polly Rae and Sheena Miss Demeanour. Expect bodacious bumps gratuitous grinds and fierce face from this 21st century showgirl.
Catch her performing at the Gala Show in Town Hall Theatre on 19th May.
