Shir Madness is a hoop dancer and burlesque performer coming to you from exotic distant lands. She arrived on the Irish scene in the summer of 2012 when she started mesmerising crowds in Galway with her hoops of fire and lights. Shortly after she added burlesque to her repertoire and since then she has performed at burlesque shows all over Ireland, art and music festivals (such as Longitude and Electric Picnic) and overseas. She now holds the title of Miss Burlesque Dublin 2015 and was awarded “Best Overall” at the Dublin Burlesque Festival 2016.
Shir Madness likes nothing more than to surprise her audience, taking her acts down unexpected roads, she combines hula hooping and strip tease, making the clothes fall off as the hoop (or hoops!) keeps spinning on various parts of her body. She takes her inspiration from everything she sees and her acts are unpredictable adventures on stage, some are ethereal and hypnotic, other are high energy with a touch of slapstick comedy.
Shir Madness also dabbles in modeling, working regularly with Dr. Sketchy Ireland, and likes to put her talents for costuming at the service of others.
She has been called a pioneer of wild underwear in Irish burlesque, and some believe that she lives in a nest made of glitter and rhinestones.
But really she’s a curvy, fiery circus freak who likes to tease…
